AQUACULTURE - Fish & shrimp ponds
With many advantages over traditional fishing, aquafarming has become a popular way to produce fish and shrimp. In order to separate the pond water and the soil, the best, cost-effective result is to use geomembranes as pond liners.
Liner's Advantages:
It needs a week to complete the pond cleaning and preparation time, while a normal earthen pond cleaning and extensive drying process need a month or more.
Pond water quality management is easy as the liners effectively prevent soil-water interaction and soil acidity.
They can reduce pond maintenance and repair expenses.
They make the pond bottom cleaner.
The liners have a life expectancy of around 10 years.
They are generally safe for fish and shrimp.
Please note that sharp or extraneous materials, such as rocks, shall be removed to make the surface of the pond bottom smooth and compacted. In addition, the liners should have enough overlap between them, as joint areas are the weakest part.
